A Silent Movie Comedy Festival Accompanied by Doug Protsik on ‘Old Time Piano’

ArtsFarmington presents - A Silent Movie Comedy Festival with live traditional music accompaniment by Doug Protsik on “old time piano” on Saturday, February 1, at 7:00pm at the Emery Community Arts Center. Tickets are $20 for adults but more if you can, less if you can’t.  All are welcome. No one turned away.  Free for UMF Students.  This family friendly event is also free for all youth 18 and under through our Arts Inspire Youth fund.

While we had planned a full-length film, our pianist, Doug Protsik is intrigued by the richness and variety of the 20-minute comedy shorts which were produced by a host of different artists in the pre-1919 era.  He will discuss each film and play for a selection of these classic comedies.
