A rousing and inspiring performance presenting the story of Edna St. Vincent Millay, the Maine girl poet who became an American icon. As an opener there will be a brief performance of a song-cycle of songs of 6 poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay.

About The Event
The Cabaret depicts Edna's life and the deep love between her and her sister Norma. The performance is by NYC based actors and singers: Â Margi Sharp Douglas and Rachel Murdy with Peter Szep as musical director and accompanist. Â
As an opener for the MILLAY SISTERS CABARET, soprano Christien Beeuwkes and accompanist and composer Dana Maiben will give the premiere performance of a new song cycle by Maiben: "Love is Not All- Six Poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay." Â The musical settings of the songs draw on styles that would have been familiar to Millay, from Classical to Broadway and Jazz.Â
This opening act will start at 7:00 pm, then break for a brief social with refreshments and drinks. Main performance will start at 7:30 pm.
Admission $15 for adults, free for under 18 and UMF students with IDs.Â
